May Board Meeting Agenda

CTEC Registered Tax Preparers (CRTPs) are invited to attend the next CTEC board meeting in Sacramento.

Some topics on the agenda include...

  • FTB enforcement updates
  • IRS tax preparer initiatives
  • Education providers (audits, course requirements)
  • Public awareness campaign

The meeting is set for May 19-20th. The schedule will be posted on the CTEC website one week before the meeting. If you are interested, call the CTEC office at 877-850-2832.

I have a tax business in Chicago for 18 years and I want to know if I have to be ctec in California if I want to start a business in California ???Can I use the ptin and ein from Illinois ???? Hope someone can answer my question >>> Thank you

Hi Mayela, Yes, if you plan to operate your business within the State of California, you need to be CTEC registered. CTEC offers options for out of state tax preparers who want to become registered.
